The Cloud Messenger or Struggle against loneliness is based on theMeghadūta, a lyric poem written in Sanskrit by Kālidāsa, where an exiled lover asks a cloud to deliver to his wife in the North of India, his thoughts and rich descriptions of the country.
The project is initiated by Fred Momotenko, Russian composer based in Tilburg, and the blockflutes musician Jorge Isaac, choreographed by Hans Tuerlings in collaboration with dancers Gilles Viandier and Daniela Lehmann in video-interaction duet, with set from Babs Appels and animations and sculptures from Jasper Kuipers.
